Thursday, May 6th, 2010

It looks like first time homebuyers who are members of the military have additional time to qualify for the credit.  The deadline has been extended to April 30, 2011 for members of the military and certain other federal employees.  Our readers at Barksdale Air Force Base and those in the military transferring to the Shreveport/Bossier City, La area should take a look at this article…

Ark-La-Tex Virtual Media Website News

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

This month Ark-La-Tex Virtual Media would like to feature our newest website, www.JamesMBrownBuilder.com,  built for James M. Brown Builders of Bossier City, La.

This fully customized site has features such as embedded virtual tours and a virtual tour gallery which showcases some of this builder’s portfolio of custom built homes in and around the Bossier City and Barksdale Air Force Base area.

The customized nature of this website makes the sky the limit in what can be added.  This customer has plans for aerial photos, video and interactive subdivision information pages.  Sites of this nature often require a webmaster to manage them, but also allow for unlimited options in customization and interaction with the viewer.  A website such as this accomodates ongoing updates to the data and information presented, keeping the website fresh and current.

Camera Care in the Cold Weather

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

With a major cold blast bearing down on the Shreveport/Bossier City area, I thought this may be a good time to share some tips on how to care for your camera in the cold weather.  Cameras lenses, sensors (in digital cameras) and other parts are very sensitive and sudden temperature changes, not to mention condensation, can harm or destroy a camera.  So, if you will be out photographing in the cold, check out the article below by Peter Carey form Digital Photography School’s forum for some tips on cold weather camera care.

Really Awesome Websites!!

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

So you want a new website. Something eye catching, something interesting, something engaging, something….that sells your product.

With more people than ever surfing the Internet for everything from information on next Sunday’s big game to the best deal on refrigerators, a unique web presence has almost become a necessity. In today’s world, if there is a need, the Internet has some kind of answer.

Your web presence can have a large impact on your business. The image you present on your website tells people a lot about you and how you do business. This is why it is important to have a website that accurately portrays you and your business. Below is some “food for thought” on putting together a website.

What Do I Want My Site To Say About Me? Carefully consider the answer to this question. This is the image you present to the world. Whether it is streamlined and professional or fun and whimsical, it should be a reflection of you and your business.

What Do I Want My Site To Do? The information you put out there and how people access that information can affect how effective your website is in generating business. A well thought out and organized site will engage viewers, provide them the information they are looking for, and allow them to make an informed decision about the products you offer. Organization is key. Can people move around your site easily to find the information they are looking for?

Your website can act as an employee, providing information and generating interest in you and your business. It is a reflection of you and your personality. So go out there and have fun designing your personal, really awesome website!

Hurricane Gustav

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Today’s outdoors picture is of the gathering clouds of hurricane Gustav. We at Ark-La-Tex Virtual Tours are please to announce that we have weathered the storm with minimal disruption. This photo was taken with my camera phone and has not been edited, other than to crop it a little.

If you are planning a virtual tour or other photos of your home or business, be sure to leave plenty of time to clean up from the storms. A nicely manicured lawn shows far better in photos than one in need of attention.
